Album / Akkord '2001

          Note. Akkord Cave located in Khakasia region, a few kilometers from Nankhchul station (Novokuznetsk-Abakan line). Depth 139m, total length 1315m. Difficulty degree: 2B (Soviet system).

          Given the not very successful 1999 trip into this cave, in 2001 we decided to try one more time. The idea was met by fellow diggers with vast enthusiasm. The initial number of wanna goers was 15! One month later only 2 remained, but luckily the day of departure two more guys jumped on the train. The most appealing part of the trip would be the ascent into "Teatralnaya" ("Theatre") system. Besides that we wanted to make it finally to the "Gop-Stop" and "Rozaryj" ("Rose Garden") grottos. However everything happened in an unpredicted way since some of trip members were a bit new to caving. First, we held a training session at the cave entrance, secondly after making the planned ascend to "Teatralnaja" and even placing one bolt we had to repel down and help our friends who got stuck in the nasty, narrow passage close to the entrance. Well, at least everything went ok and now it's fun to remember.
          A good surprise for us was to find nice accommodations in the grotto just next to the cave (Property of Sergey Velichko :)
