Album / Tutkushskaya '1996

Note. Tutkushskaya cave is located in the Altay region, Iolgo ridge. The cave entrance is approximately 7 km away from Urluaspak village. Depth 200m, length 1.4 km. Difficulty degree: 2b (Soviet system).

And we came back! Every single morning we woke up with only thought: Tutkushskaya. Now, remembering past troubles we brought drysuits. Well, of course, there wasn't a single drop of water in the whole cave. What was the reason for this surprise nobody knows, maybe it's because we went in July instead of rainy August. Anyway, "Great Grotto" was dry as a Sahara desert. Overwhelmed by the beauty of it, we stood in the middle - it was done! After finishing Tutkushskaya cave, we didn`t go back to the village of Urluaspak, instead we traveled down the picturesque Kujum river gorge. On the way we checked out some limestone cliffs and finally reached Katun river, where we caught a bus to Novosibirsk.
